Weather Station Hire

Hire has been an integral part of ANV Measurement Systems’ business since we started selling, hiring and calibrating sound and vibration instrumentation in 2001. Dust/particulate and weather monitoring instrumentation were added to our lineup in 2015. 

ANV have earned a reputation for providing reliable and easy to use instrumentation backed by industry-leading customer support. 

We have a broad range of hire customers but it’s fair to say our hire service seems to particularly suit acoustic consultants, environmental consultants, demolition and construction contractors.

ANV Measurement Systems’ Weather Monitors are based on the Lufft WS600 Compact Weather Station. The sensors on the Lufft WS600 have no moving parts making it ideal for noise monitoring. It also has an electronic compass so you don’t have to worry about carefully aligning it on site. The Lufft WS600 uses doppler radar to detect precipitation rate and type and ultrasonic sensors for windspeed and direction. It additionally measures temperature, pressure and relative humidity.

We have two weather stations on our hire fleet. 

Our Battery-Powered Data-Logging Weather Station is designed to collect 2 weeks of data using its internal battery. Battery life can be extended by the use of additional external batteries. This system was developed to meet the needs of BS 4142 noise surveys. The data is collected as a csv text file on a removable USB memory stick.

Our Live Met live-to-web weather station can be used on its own or as an add-on to a Live Leq Noise System or Live PM10 Dust System (when it’s used as an add-on no additional subscription is required. 

Live Met shows windspeed and direction (as both graphs and windroses), precipitation rate and type, accumulated precipitation (1, 4, 16, 8, 24, 48 and 72 hour totals), temperature, dew-point, pressure, and relative humidity

The principal results from a Live Met System can be displayed on associated Live Leq Noise or Live PM10 Dust pages (pollution roses are added to the dust pages in this instance). 

ANV Measurement Systems have a huge and well-supported hire fleet of well-maintained modern instrumentation. Our weather monitors have all been calibrated within the previous 12 months. 

Instruments are normally shipped to you on a next day courier (timed delivery) but we can also do same day delivery to most UK mainland locations. Alternatively you are very welcome to pick up the kit from our Milton Keynes office and to benefit from free advice & training on the use of the kit (and to sample our excellent coffee).

Most instruments are available for weekly hire after which the day rate becomes 1/7 of the weekly hire rate. We offer a 4 day minimum hire for some instruments on request. 

If you hire instrumentation and place an order to purchase the same kit within 1 month of the end of the hire we you will be given a discount equivalent to one week’s hire charges.
