In addition to instrumentation for measuring sound, noise, vibration, dust and weather, ANV Measurement Systems supply some unique solutions for the measurement of engine cylinder capacity, volume of objects which are irregularly shaped or cannot be touched, viscosity and airflow resistance.Â
The VM230A/240A is Rion’s unique and revolutionary solution to measuring engine cylinder capacity using sound. The system has a sound source which generates sound simultaneously inside the VM230A/240A reference chamber and the engine cylinder. By comparing the sound pressure level generated in the system’s reference chamber to the sound pressure level in the engine cylinder, the system accurately calculates the engine cylinder volume. In order to do this the VM240A measuring device is placed on the cylinder head. The VM230A can measure the cylinder capacities of the assembled engine via the spark plug sockets. The process is much quicker than the burette method and, of course, there is no requirement to fill the cylinder with liquid or dry it afterwards. This system is used worldwide by many major engine manufacturers. The same technology can be used to measure the volume of objects which are irregularly shaped or cannot be touched.
Viscosity is an important parameter for many products. The Rion VT-06 is a portable device that gives immediate viscosity testing results.Â
If you need to measure and check the airflow resistance of materials, the Norsonic Nor1517A offers a convenient, quick and cost-effective solution.
