ANV Measurement Systems have been suppling systems for long-term unattended monitoring for more than 20 years. We can supply battery solutions that will power our monitoring systems for a few days, a few weeks and more than a month. We supply Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA)-based systems (gel cells) and LiFePO4 lithium ion based systems.

The VRLA solutions are low cost. The LiFePO4 solutions are light weight – typically one third of the weight of their VRLA counterparts. 

Both battery types are safe, reliable and long-lasting technology. 

The VRLA batteries used by ANV Measurement Systems are absorbed glass mat construction i.e. there is no free acid. The VRLA batteries are sealed can be used in any orientation and handled safely. They are the type of battery normally found in Auxiliary Power Supplies, in data centres for example, because of their predictable performance, tolerance to a range of charging regimes and, above all, safety.

It’s taken a long time for ANV Measurement Systems to find lithium ion batteries that we consider suitable for widespread use with unattended monitoring systems. LiFePO4 batteries are universally accepted as the safest form of lithium ion battery. LiFePO4 batteries also offer enhanced longevity. Treated well you can expect in excess of 2000 charging cycles from the LiFePO4 batteries supplied by ANV Measurement Systems.

If you want 24/7 year round off-grid power for environmental monitoring systems solar power can be a cost-effective and reliable solutions. ANV Measurement Systems are experts in specifying solar power solution for our LivEnviro systems. We have supplied and helped to install hundreds of systems which operate 24/7 all year round. Not all locations are equally suited to solar power but we can help by specifying a system which will overcome the disadvantages of locations which are not ideal. In non-deal situations it might be necessary to do some battery swap-outs in December or January to keep the system alive but, if the solar power system is powering LivEnviro monitors, LivEnviro incorporates really practical power monitoring so you will be able to see in advance when power failure is likely and a battery swap-out is necessary to keep the system running.
