ANV Measurement Systems have been providing practical solutions to acoustic consultants for monitoring entertainment noise for more than 20 years. Our systems have been used to monitor events at Glastonbury, Womad, the Milton Keynes National Bowl – pretty much most major outdoor festivals in the UK. 

Live Leq, the noise element of ANV’s live-to-web LivEnviro System, incorporates many features which make it particularly well-suited to monitoring entertainment noise. The system can monitor 1 minute and 15 minute noise levels simultaneously. The system can monitor both rolling and fixed 15 minute periods simultaneously. Live Leq can monitor A and C weighted noise levels simultaneously and there is a powerful octave/third octave option. 

Live Leq limit setting is incredibly flexible. You can have 5 broadband and, if octaves/third octaves are installed, 5 frequency-based limits as well. Amber limits can be set up to help the team avoid exceedances.

The system sends out e-mail alerts (there is no practical limitation on the number of recipients) and you can share alerts and data with other stakeholders. You control what data the other stakeholders have access to. 

Our customers often use the totally self-contained set-up of a Live Leq system in an Enhanced Outdoor Case (a pelicase with a pole for mounting the microphone). This can simply be left in receptors’ gardens or in other selected locations around the venue. There’s no need to worry about power, the system will run for more than 24 hours on the internal battery.

Of course we can provide simpler systems, just a logging sound-level meter in an outdoor case, or a sound level meter for attended measurements (it’s often helpful to have a hand-held device in addition to the unattended monitors). And we can provide solutions to monitor the noise exposure of staff.
