ANV/Rion’s Nuisance Recorders are a firm favourite with Housing Associations because of their ease of deployment and how quick and simple it is to review the data and audio.
It’s often simple to draw a complaint case to a close when you’ve given the Noise Nuisance Recorder evidence a quick look and listen. Sometimes, however, a formal report is required and this is where Neighbour Noise Control can help.
Here’s how the service works.
1️⃣ Deploy an ANV/Rion Noise Nuisance Recorder
Deploy your Rion/ANV Nuisance Recorder in the complainant’s property for two weeks. If you don’t already have a Rion/ANV Noise Nuisance Recorder you can buy or hire one either directly from ANV Measurement Systems or from https://neighbournoisecontrol.com.
2️⃣ Data Collection and Submission
After the monitoring period, send Neighbour Noise Control the recorded data for further processing using an online file transfer link.
3️⃣ Detailed Acoustic Analysis
Neighbour Noise Control’s team of experts analyse the data in accordance with local regulations to determine whether the noise is unreasonable and actionable as nuisance. The analysis is carried out with reference to relevant British Standards and Guidelines including BS8233, WHO Community Noise Guidelines and The Noise Act 1996. An analysis matrix is applied to determine the likelihood of the noise amounting to a Statutory Nuisance as defined in Environmental Protection Act 1990, Section 79 and CIEH Professional Guidance.
4️⃣ Independent Review
Neighbour Noise Control carry out an independent review to ensure objectivity and precision in the findings. This is particularly useful for property management companies and housing professionals who need to be objective and independent in deciding when to act.
5️⃣ Report and Recommendations
Neighbour Noise Control compile a comprehensive report with clear recommendations based on the analysis. This provides you with the evidence you need to take further steps such as tenancy enforcement.
If the analysis shows that the complaint is unjustified, the report can be used to support your decision to take no further action.
The report, measurement data and audio recordings can be shared with other stakeholders to support formal enforcement action or referral to another organisation.
6️⃣ Resolution
With a detailed Neighbour Noise Control report in hand, you can effectively resolve the complaint—whether it’s engaging with the noise offender or following through with legal actions.
And the Best Part?
The report is completed within 72 hours of you sending us the data, providing you with a fast, reliable, and cost-effective solution.
