The Rion VM-54 and VX-54WB1 Whole Body Vibration program are ideal for measuring vibration levels in accordance with BS 6472. The system directly measures and logs Vibration Dose Values with all the current applicable weightings (user selectable). The VM-54 long-term kit includes a weather-resistant case and gel cell batteries. The 6 volt version will run for 4 days and the 12 volt version will run for 7 days. It's as simple as leaving a sound level meter out for a long-term survey. You just set the meter up to log at, say, 1 or 5 minute intervals and return a few days later to pick up the data. The meter stores the VDVs (and other indices) to a compact flash card in a sensibly formatted comma separated variable text file which pulls straight into a spreadsheet program for easy manipulation.
